If you've had some tattoo experience, and are seeking for tattoo skill improvement, here are the workshops we offer:
Mags are difficult to use and there's nowhere else giving a thorough, in-depth mag training workshop like we do. Tattoo mentor Jing is the only and 1st person deeply deconstruct all the mag skills and assemble this step-by-step mag training curriculum, making it easy for artists from understanding a mag to master them. This is a highly constructive mag using course. It contains 2 levels:
Level 1 - Mag Foundation - 5 days
Tattoo Shading Skills breaking down and explained thoroughly. Specially designed practices for each small step. Course is designed for mag only.
Level 2 - Advanced Mag - 5 days
Tattoo Shading Foundations put together, learn to apply the skills to complicated tattoo needs. Course is designed for blending mag, liner and round shader.
- Dilution mixing, Grey wash blending
- Round shader, and How to use the mag together with liner and round shader
- How to make Textured Shade: sand shading/ metal/ smoke/ glass/ fur...
- How to apply all shading techniques to 1 complicated tattoos, e.g. portrait
- Real skin demonstration
Many experienced tattoo artist, even though already tattooed on skin, had never actually been thoroughly trained, for both tattoo skills and skin principles. Many are semi self-taught with a lot of guessing on how tattoo skill works. This commonly causes misunderstandings/ bad habits, especially when it comes to more advanced tattoo skills, e.g. smooth shading. When experienced tattoo artists are seeking "more skills" to improve, it usually comes down to their lack of understanding on machine-skin relationship.
This is not a shallow-level "let's pull a line, ok you're a tattoo artists now" type of workshop. It is an online-offline cocktail workshop, a deep tattoo foundation course, focused on building good operation habits, explaining machine-skin relationship, and refining the liner skills. The theory part is trained online to maximize our in-person time, the skill part is 5-days trained together with beginner artists:
Color tattoos and gray wash tattoos, even tho both using mag, have some essential difference. The color workshop is designed to help artists differentiate the shading skills, as well as to learn how color inks work with skin. This workshop is still being planned but we will have one coming soon.
Most workshops are 5-days, but occasionally we have 2-3 days pop up workshops with certain topics. E.g. In 2024 we had a watercolor tattoo workshop.
These workshops are Not constructively designed for skill foundations as our other workshops, they're more free-flow and restricted to certain topics. Artists who are lack of essential tattoo foundations may find the contents difficult to catch-up.
We would publish on IG post when there's a pop-up workshop! Pls follow our shop page to get updated.
