WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

One of the most important and challenging skills for tattoo artists to master is Shading and Lead Artist Jingxi is excited to meet other artists and pass down her knowledge. 

The Shading Workshop takes place over 5 days in the Los Angeles studio. The workshop is live, in-person and fully interactive.

The last 2023 workshop ran from January 4 through 8, Monday through Friday, 10am to 5pm everyday.

The dates for the next workshop is yet to be announced, but if you are interested, please reach out via email info@patchtattootherapy.com to be added to the notification list when the next dates are decided.

Although Jingxi has a highly demanded training class for beginners, the Tattoo Shading Workshop is for experienced tattoo artists only. 

Since we’ll be explaining shading theories in depth, all artists must have enough real skin experience to understand the fundamentals needed to grasp the advanced concepts.

The Workshop contains Shading Theory (every morning) and Practice (every afternoon). 

Curriculum:

1.4 - Hand speed adjustment

1.5 - Shading direction analysis

1.6 - Skin resistance, cartridge size and needle depth

1.7 - Ink dilution and solidness

1.8 - Smooth shading and textured shading 

The shop will provide fake skin and ink, but all artists will need to bring their own tattoo machines and power supply.
