Please carefully read the info below as we prepare for our appointment. Following the advice below will make your tattoo experience comfortable and smooth.
Set a reminder for yourself the day before to review the preparation advice again.
For payment, Cash is preferred, but we also accept Zelle and Credit Cards (with an additional 3% processing fee from the credit card processing company). Any deposit previously provided is non-refundable and goes into the overall price of the tattoo. Design fees are separate if that was required by the artist. After your tattoo session, you can provide cash or process payment via our standard payment link.
Note that banks have limits on how much money can be sent per day via Zelle, typically between $500 - 2k. If you need to raise your limit, we recommend calling your bank to request a higher limit, bring supplemental cash or pay remaining fees with a credit card.
On tips for tattoos and touch-ups, it is not required, but is always appreciated. The standards/etiquette for tipping tattoo artists can be found by google search :) At the end of your tattoo session, please make sure to ask the artist how to send your tip.

Clothes*** (see photos below):
* The tattoo artist needs to be able to comfortably access the tattoo area with plenty of buffer space.
* In general, wear clothes that are loose and soft so it is easy to pull up for tattoo work.
* Please clear out 3 inches away from the tattoo to allow workspace. e.g. If the tattoo is 1 inch above the knee, the shorts should be 4 inches above the knee. If the clothes are too close to the tattoo area, the artist might ask you to remove clothing or else the artist can’t get in position properly to create a quality tattoo.
* It’s best if the color is similar to your skin color, or slightly darker is the best. Iff don’t have it then wear a darker brown, grey or black.
* If you’re getting tattooed on the arms, a tank top would be good to bring and if on the thighs, make sure to bring short shorts. For back tattoos, you can wear something that completely exposes the back tattoo while keeping your front covered or be prepared to take off your shirt completely if you’re okay with that. See photos below for more examples.
We recommend that you follow these steps to have a safe and comfortable session:
* We kindly ask that you to not make any plans after your tattoo. We need you to be relaxed and prepared to stay longer than expected if necessary so that we can focus on quality work that will last you a lifetime.
* Eat a healthy meal within 1 hour before your appointment.
* Bring a simple lunch like a sandwich if you aren’t able to eat within 1 hour before your appointment, but do not bring food that smells.
* Bring snacks that will help maintain energy like well balanced nutrition bars or healthy crackers.
* We also have snacks and sparkling water in refrigerator.
* Get a good night’s rest, very important.
* Bring a water bottle. We have a water dispenser in front and sparkling water in the back refrigerator. Please help yourself.
* Avoid getting a sunburn before your appointment.
* Do not take blood thinners before your appointment.
* Do not consume any alcohol or take drugs before your appointment.
* Do not drink more than one cup of coffee before the appointment.
* Shower before your appointment and make sure the tattoo area is thoroughly cleaned.
* If you can reach your tattoo area, try to shave off the hair around the tattoo spot before you come. The area being shaved should have a 2-3 inch margin to the tattoo, e.g. your tattoo is a 3*3 dog on the forearm, shave at least 5*5 of the forearm around the possible placement. The larger area you shave the better.
* On the tattooing day, make sure to not put any cream, numbing ointment, moisturizer, or sunscreen on the tattoo spot. If you have a habit of using body cream everyday, try to skip the tattoo area for 2-3 days as well.
* If you bring any friends or family to the studio, please try to be quiet during the tattoo work so that the artist can focus. Also the sofa area in front tends to get a bit hot from noon into the afternoon as we’ve prioritized sunlight over shading.
* When you arrive at the studio, make yourself at home! Bathroom is in the back. There is a phone charger under the sofa in the waiting area. Feel free to use whenever you need.
We will not tattoo you if:
* You are taking antibiotics or cortisone.
* You are pregnant or have recently had a baby.
* You were vaccinated less than 48 hours before your appointment.
* You are about to go on vacation where you will be exposed to the sun for prolonged periods.
* Atopic dermatitis is present on the location of where you are getting a tattoo.
* You are under the age of 18.
* You are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
* You did not bring proper identification.
Please make sure to be punctual for your visit:
* Being late for the consulting session will reduce available time for you.
* Being late for the tattoo session will possibly rush the artist.
* Being late or not showing up could result in forfeiture of your deposit.
* On the day of the tattoo, make sure to dedicate the entire day and evening if necessary for the tattoo so you are relaxed and not rushed to leave.
